The Bridge has a long history of temporary lives. The organization was established in 1971 when a determined group of parents and community leaders formed a committee to prosper a school for children with disabilities in Melbourne’s southeast. With a growing demand for daytime promote services in the region, we opened a fresh facility in barre Warren. We began to offer individual support services, letting people make their own choices about how they wanted to be supported to participate in the community and to live their lives. In 2003, we changed our name to Options Victoria Inc. and maintained our quality accreditation under the Disability Services Standards and continued to exaggerate our services, through numerous locations in Melbourne's southeastern suburbs. Under the Options name, we had a disparate range of service names and service offerings. We have now consolidated our organization under one name: The decision to change our name to The Bridge has allowed us to bring all areas of the organization together, enhancing opportunities for the individuals and businesses who use our services, and encouraging new levels of collaboration and information sharing between our staff.
