In 1990 there were changes to the franchise agreement which allowed Competitive Foods to franchise Hungry Jack's stores as self-reliant businesses. Broken Hill was the first of these third party franchisees. At Hungry Jack's we receive pride in being involved in the communities where we work and live. Currently, we have two key partnerships that we are passionate about. The first is our sponsorship of the Gorilla Conservation Breeding Program at Taronga Zoo. Secondly is our fresh partnership with R U OK ?, a not for profit organization dedicated to inspiring important conversations with family, friends, colleagues and the wider community. To encourage everyone to look out for each other by asking 'are you Bk?' There'll be inshore activation, fund raising efforts, staff education and much more all dedicated to prompting you to get involved and begin conversations to help make a difference. Hungry Jack’s encourages our customers and community to appreciate energetic and well lifestyles. We’re in the process of implementing a series of operational improvements across our network of stores, with the aim to reduce our whole energy consumption. Installing more energy efficient lighting and reducing the power consumption of many of our kitchen appliances are two of a number of initiates in progress. We’re solemn about our energy footprint, so we’re working difficult to make it better. Hungry Jack's is a long term supporter of Taronga Zoo and the Gorillas. Gorillas are the largest and maximum mighty of all primates. There are two species of Gorilla: the Western Gorillas and the Eastern Gorillas. Like many species of Gorillas, the Western Lowland Gorilla is classified as endangered and is facing extinction. The greatest threat to their existence in the savage is the bush meat trade. All our stores are heavily involved in charitable initiatives, as community support is an integral portion of our core values.
